I'm really bad at talking to people, so the fact that she broke the ice for me is a HUGE relief for me. I'll be talking with my head of year in about an hour, and then at 4 I have a doctor's appointment as planned to discuss getting professional therapy. This is all exciting but scary - I really don't want to be making the wrong choice here, I've only been living as Trans* for 7 months after all.

Ah, also the weight issue was just a concern from another teacher that I looked very thin - but I think it's mostly the binder XD

@A Little Personal:

what sort of "therapy" is this?
Because I hope they're not trying to convince you you're not allowed to be who you want to be.
That annoys me.
Either way - I hope things help you.

@Dancing-Jebus:

Nah, Therapy for an FTM or MTF is just a few sessions - sometimes longer - of a "professional" making sure they know what they're doing. You'd be surprised how many people go in there thinking it's what they want, when it really isn't. It's something you can't reverse if you regret it, so they have to make sure an FTM/MTF absolutely knows what he/she wants.

Yay! Just telling someone is a great first step, and the fact that she was so willing to help is great! Good luck with everything, especially finding a good therapist. It can be difficult, many doctors and therapists unfortunately have no experience with transgender individuals, but I'm sure you can find someone who will be a great match for you! :) If you ever need any help, feel free to message me and I'll see what I can do. I'm an MtF who has been transitioning for a year now and I just love to help others find themselves, no matter what that means. :)
